Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

For more than 10 years, San Francisco producer/dj/turntablist/impresario/journalist Motion Potion (Robbie Kowal) has been stirring up a rich gumbo of music and enriching the lives of thousands. Referred to, as "MoPo" was a music blogger before there were "blogs", a masher before there were "mashups", and an independent visionary before the term "indie" applied to DJs.   Best known to his San Francisco brethren as a quasi-religious defender of the ancient art of funk, MoPo has DJ'd over a thousand nights and over 500 concerts, festivals, and parties including the San Francisco Funk Festival, North Beach Jazz Fest, FestForward and Festival of the Golden Gate. In 2008, MoPo makes his 6th straight appearance at Bonnaroo, doing two marathon 4-5 hour sets in the Silent Disco (Thur-Fri) and a massive closing set in the Arcade on Saturday night.  MoPo has also performed at all three years of the Vegoose Festival and will perform this sumemr at Rothbury, Shambhala, and the biggest systems at Burning Man.  MoPo has performed live with funk legends like George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Soulive, Rebirth Brass Band, Kurtis Blow, and the New Mastersounds and is the turntablist for the indie techno circus the Mutaytor.  He has shared bills with a range of artists as eclectic as his taste, from Femi Kuti to Sheryl Crow, to Widespread Panic to Isaac Hayes, to STS9 to Grandmaster Flash.
