Daily Show Stars John Oliver Rob Riggle Rory Albanese Wyatt Cenac Kristen Schaal & Kurt Braunohler
John Oliver
John Oliver is a writer and correspondent for "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart." He joined the show in 2006 and at the time of this writing is yet to be fired. Since then he has done everything from interviewing UN Ambassadors to breaking his nose fighting for the Confederate army.
As a writer he has been nominated for both Emmys and Writers Guild Awards and he won the Breakout Award at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. He performs stand-up around the US and his Comedy Central Hour Special "Terrifying Times" debuted in April 2008. Along with Andy Zaltzman, he also writes and stars in a weekly podcast, "The Bugle: Audio Newspaper for a Visual World."
He hopes to stay at "The Daily Show" for as long as they and US immigration will allow.
Rob Riggle
Rob Riggle has life experience. He's been a student, a bartender, a waiter, a farmer, a factory worker, a United States Marine, a Fortune 10 company executive and of course an actor and comedian. He has a Bachelor's in Theater/Film and a Master's in Public Administration. During his service to his country, he was promoted 4 times to the rank of Major. He was awarded over 18 medals and ribbons to include the Combat Action Ribbon. During his service he took part in 5 real world Operations to include: Operation
Assured Response (Liberia), Operation Quick Response (Central African Republic), Joint Task Force Shining Hope (Albania), Operation Joint Guardian (Kosovo) and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).
Rob was born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Overland Park, Kansas. He now resides in Los Angeles, California.
Rob has been performing sketch and improv comedy in New York City and Los Angeles for the last 8 years. You can look for him these days at both the UCB Theaters in Los Angeles and New York.
Rory Albanese
Rory Albanese is the two time Emmy winning Executive Producer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He has been a key part of The Daily Show for the last ten years. Rory is also an accomplished stand-up comedian. In the summer of 2006 he joined Lewis Black's "Red White and Screwed" tour performing with Lewis all over the country. Most recently Rory has been seen performing with Daily Show correspondent John Oliver as well as headlining his own shows at colleges throughout the North East. He has been featured on both VH1 and Spike TV.
Wyatt Cenac
Wyatt Cenac hails from Dallas and has been performing stand up, improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles since its inception in 2005. He currently resides in New York where he is a correspondent and writer on “The Daily Show”. Before that, he spent three seasons as a writer and contributed voice-over work for FOX's "King of the Hill" and also co-starred with Kanye West in a pilot for HBO. In 2008, he also starred in the film, “Medicine for Melancholy” which was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards.
Kristen Schaal
Kristen Schaal is one of the rising stars of the alternative comedy scene, with glowing reviews and multiple awards marking her ascent. She just completed the run of her two-person show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where she and her comedy partner Kurt Braunohler were nominated for the If.Comedy Award (Perrier Award). She won the award for Best Alternative Comic at HBO's 2006 United States Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Kristen is the recipient of the second annual Andy Kaufman Award hosted by the New York Comedy Festival, as well as the winner of the 2006 Nightlife Award in New York for best female stand-up. In October 2005 she was included in New York Magazine's "Ten Funniest New Yorkers You've Never Heard Of."
She is the Senior Women's Correspondent for the Daily Show. Kristen has also been hired as a writer on Comedy Central's South Park, but only for one month.
She is a series regular on HBO's Flight of the Conchords and can also be seen in "Penelope Princess of Pets," which she co-created with Kurt Braunohler, on funnyordie.
Kurt Braunohler
KURT BRAUNOHLER was most recently seen at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he was nominated (along with Kristen Schaal) for the if.comedy Award's "Best Comedy Show" (formerly the Perrier). He has also performed with Schaal at the Melbourne Comedy Festival (Barry Award Winners), HBO Las Vegas Comedy Festival, Montreal Comedy Festival, and on the BBC. He created and starred in the popular online series "Penelope: Princess of Pets" which is now being made into a pilot for Channel 4 in London. His TV credits include Human Giant, Whitest Kids You Know, and loads of VH1 talking heads shows. He was also a consultant on Southpark, as well as a writer for MTV’s Silent Library. He is currently working on a script development deal with Paramount Studios for a network sitcom. Kurt is also a seasoned improvisor, having performed and taught all over the world for the past 10 years. His group, Neutrino, was invited to the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival was awarded "Improv Ensemble of the Year" by the Chicago Improv Festival. Lastly, Kurt is the co-creator and performer of the “street-riot-performance” known as Chengwin (chengwin.com.) Kurt performs stand-up regularly around New York City and the US.
