Curtain Call with Phish
by Ben Levin
(06/14/09 11:44 PM)
At about 8:50 Manchester time (that's 8:30 Bonnaroo time), Phish returned to The What Stage for the second and final time of the weekend.
Sunday evening generally lacks the excitement of the rest of the festival and feels a bit bittersweet, as campers prepare for long drives, flights, or just the return of a real work week. The atmosphere tonight, however, was anything but downbeat.
With glow sticks and beach balls flying over the crowd, the band kicked of its set with a boisterous version of "AC/DC Bag," which led into the playful, but lyrically dense "NICU."
I'm off to catch the rest of the set, but I hope you've enjoyed these posts over the course of the weekend.
More later.
Late addition: Bruce Springsteen joined Phish for "Mustang Sally," "Bobby Jean," and "Glory Days." No telling how much longer he'll be on stage, but it looks like this year's festival is really going to close with a super jam.
