Emily Zemler is a freelance writer based in New York City. You may have seen her work in Alternative Press, Relix, Paper, YRB, and on SPIN.com, where she runs a book club for literate musicians. She likes: drummers who put their crash cymbals too high, explaining the validity of emo as musical genre, bands that don't have vocalists, and making a meal of meatless side dishes at BBQ joints in Tennessee.
