Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

Community Investment

Bonnaroo is proud to continue partnering with our patrons to support non-profits that are dealing with many of the nations top policy issues on a regional and national level. Since the inception of the festival we've supported over 40 non-profits.

Stay tuned for more information on our community investment work from this festival.

Microsoft

Microsoft knows how we feel about giving to great social causes. Thats why they created the im™ Initiative. This year, we're excited to have them team with the Roo Community to give a large donation to one of the causes tied to the im™ Initiative. First, visit the 'Community Investment' section of the Bonnaroo website to vote for which social cause you would like to see win the cash. Second, stop by the Silent Auction in Planet Roo and bid on a Gibson Guitar autographed by none other than the Super Jam stars of Roo 07 Ben Harper, ?uestlove, and John Paul Jones! All proceeds raised from this auction will go to the social cause with the most votes! This is your chance to raise money and help those in need. One lucky voter will win tickets to the 2009 Festival.

VOTE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Conscious Alliance Food Drive

The Bonnaroo Music Festival and Conscious Alliance are proud to announce our 5th Annual Food Drive to benefit the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, of Manchester, TN. Last year’s food drive brought in 10,000 pounds of food donations for the hungry in Coffee County. This year with your help, we hope to pull in at least 15,000 pounds!

The first 2,000 patrons that donate 10 non-perishable food items will receive a free limited edition Bonnaroo poster created by renowned artist, Justin Hampton.
Two Food Drive Donation Tents will be located outside the main entrances to the concert areas. These locations will be marked on the Bonnaroo guide map, given to all attendees upon arriving at the festival grounds. After dropping off your food, you will receive a voucher for one free poster that can only be redeemed at the Conscious Alliance “Art that Feeds” Gallery, located inside Planet Roo.

The Conscious Alliance always encourages food donations to be low-sodium and health oriented products. “Organic” food donations are especially encouraged. RAMEN NOODLES will not be accepted for the free poster.

Thank you for your continued support in feeding the hungry everywhere the music plays!

LIFEWAY KEFIR
www.lifeway.net

Bonnaroo is proud to welcome Lifeway Kefir back onsite at Bonnaroo. Lifeway Kefir comes from animals that are given no antibiotics or growth hormones. Lifeway only uses milk that is rBGH free (bovine growth hormones). The products are produced without the using most conventional pesticides; and the milk purchased is from small family owned farms that are committed to a healthy environment.

Lifeway also uses 100% clean, renewable energy for all electricity needs. Lifeway purchases renewable energy credits to offset 100% of the electricity used to produce its products. This effort will avoid over 2.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide pollution. This has the same impact as planting 335 acres of trees or removing 222 cars from the road. Renewable energy credits ensure that the amount of electricity Lifeway uses to produce kefir is replaced onto the grid with a renewable source, like wind power, making it cleaner for everyone.

Lifeway Kefir will be sampled onsite using only biodegradable utensils like cups and spoons that are made from corn and are 100% biodegradable and compostable.

2007 Community Investments

From the beginning, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival proudly supported regional non-profit groups and worthy causes in Coffee County.  We strongly believe in the principle of contributing to make the community a better place for people to live, work, and play.

Now that we are Coffee County landowners, we’re taking it a step further by forming the Bonnaroo Works Fund to continue supporting groups working towards creating healthy communities. The fund describes this work as projects in the areas of education, healthcare, environmentalism, economic development, sustainable living, any project furthering the health of the community.

Each year Bonnaroo fans make it possible to support many of the issues at the top of the country’s policy agenda from healthcare, to education, to county infrastructure. The Fund will continue this work by sustainably reinvesting in the community.

In 2007 Bonnaroo will support the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department and Manchester Police Department, Common Ground Relief, Doctors Without Borders, Rock the Earth, Head Count, and Music Cares; as we work with our fans and the community to develop strategies for supporting key long-term projects.
